Events
In addition to our support group meetings, For the Love of Christi offers retreats and events that provide a special sense of community for our members.
Memorial Tree Groves Planting
For the Love of Christi has planted over 800 trees in Austin and Round Rock as a lasting way to pay tribute to our loved ones. Each of these living tributes has a permanent marker that lists the names of the people in whose memory the trees were planted.
The trees give us a special place where our loved ones live on. And because the trees are planted in groves, there’s a sense of belonging and community that is binding to a wounded soul.
We dedicate a new grove each Fall. For more information about the Memorial Tree Groves, click here to contact us by email, or call (512)467-2600.
Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony
The holiday season can bring its own sorrows as well as joys as we remember those who are no longer with us. The candlelight remembrance ceremony offers hope for the holidays by allowing our members to meet socially with others who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
Together we share memories with those who speak the language of grief and healing. This helps make the holiday season seem less daunting: having acknowledged our grief with those who understand our loss, we can face the holidays in a more positive and loving way.
The candlelight ceremony takes place in December. Click here to contact us by email, or call (512) 467-2600.
Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
For the Love of Christi could not exist without the generosity of our hundreds of
volunteers. . Each Spring we recognize our Volunteers at a special dinner. Our volunteers are vital to the successful implementation of our programs for facilitation, office help, events and more. Click here to learn more about how to volunteer.
Children’s and Teens’ Retreats
This spring time weekend getaway enables children and teens to meet and talk to others their own age with similar experiences and emotions. Participants engage in activities that provide time for sharing memories, forging friendships, and restoring a sense of security in knowing that they are not alone.
Parents are welcome to come along and share in the entire weekend, or families can join their children on Sunday for lunch and a closing ceremony.

Retreats for Adults
No matter what is going on in our lives, it is important to take time for ourselves. Our retreats are designed as time away from our everyday concerns and grief. They allow us to honor our loved ones by loving ourselves. They include sharing sessions and enjoying activities like hiking, golfing, sightseeing and shopping.
We offer retreats for men and women in the mountains of Ruidoso, New Mexico and Lake Buchanan.
