2004 in the City Council Chamber, 221 E. Main Street to declare
October 23, 2004 as “For the Love of Christi Day” and

Memorial 5K: An Event to Remember
May 24, 2004. Memorial 5K run or walk was hosted
by “For the Love of Christi,” a nonprofit, nondenominational
grief-support program at Old Settler’s Park, located at 2800
E. Palm Valley Road (Highway 79) in Round Rock. The 5K cross-country
fun run began at 7:30 a.m., the Kids’ K at 7:40 a.m., and
the 5K walk at 8:45 a.m.
Attorney General Abbott's Crime Victims Assistance Unit Awards
278 Grants To Community Service Groups
September 2, 2003. The grants were made through
the Attorney General's Crime Victims Services (CVS) Division following
a formal application and review process and will be utilized for
services such as grief counseling, shelters for battered women and
advocate for victims of child or elder abuse. During today's announcement,
Attorney General Greg Abbott was joined by members of three of the
organizations that received grants, representing the diversity of
grant recipients throughout Texas. Among them were Susan and Don
Cox, who founded "For the Love of Christi" after their
daughter was killed by a drunk driver in 1987. Read

Attorney General Cornyn Announces New Grants To Assist Crime Victims
April 25, 2002. Programs to serve crime victims
in Central Texas and statewide have received more than $6.7 million
in new grants, Texas Attorney General John Cornyn announced today.
The grants are the result of a new state program designed to increase
services available to eligible Texans. Grant recipient included

Internship Program Recognized
In 1999, HEB Grocery Company (Austin Region) partnered with St.
Edward’s University to support five internship opportunities
in five different nonprofit agencies. In the Spring of 2000, For
the Love of Christi Center was recognized as one of them. Read
